What about the youth? How will they be helped with their problems? Will they meet with other youths who have been through the same?

One of the most exciting outreaches that we do here at Truth Ministry is our work with teens. Our group is for young people 14/15 to 17 that struggle with same-sex attractions. It is the only formal group of its kind in existence, as far as we are aware. There are a handful less formal in the US. To attend our group mom and/or dad or legal guardian must first set up an appointment for an initial counseling appointment. Basically, our Executive Director and leader of the youth group, McKrae Game will talk with you and get to know you. You can share/Will be asked what's going on in your life and where you are in your beliefs about Jesus Christ and homosexuality. If you are not ready to make that step, by informing your parents/guardian or a pastor in your church, then unfortunately we cannot help you, but we will keep you in prayer. If you are willing to tell your pastor but not m&d then we can work with that by having him come invite us to his church to speak with you and he/she together.

You asked--"How will they be helped...?" One of the biggest ways is to inform them of all the information. Most times, due to the use of the internet, young persons have gotten on websites and others and have read all about homosexuality on a belief system that is built especially for them to believe that they can have a permissive relationship with God, rather than a repentant relationship. Christianity is not a religion of dos and don'ts but it is NOT a relationship with God that permits sin either. That does not mean that we are not going to sin, but repentance means that we are going to go to God with a heart's desire to change--regardless of what we are dealing with. Now you might say--Yeah, that is exactly what my pastor says but he doesn't understand. You are right. That what makes Truth Ministry so unique. We have walked your walk. This is not theoretical, but real life applicable. Been there--Done that. The biggest thing we do for them other than teach them is to walk with them and to provide them an atmosphere and challenge to discover their faith for themselves and not simply accept what they have heard from any side. It must be YOUR relationship with God.

We would love an opportunity to help. The young men in our group (young ladies will be brought in as we have a demand) are great young men that are on a journey of discovery. They don't have it all figured out. The only prerequisites to the group is that you are not actively in a homosexual relationship, that your mannerisms be toned down for group, dress code modest, and no information is to be shared other than first name and personal stories (no email, phone #s, addresses, etc.). Guidelines, etc. come with forms for first appointment. The biggest requirement is that you WANT to be there. You have to be at least WILLING to come in for a first time appointment (you have to sign a form saying you have not been forced by m&d). But to come to group--You HAVE TO WANT TO BE THERE. We have a lot of fun. We do socials--paintball, movies, going for dessert, etc. and more to come.
