Exodus and our History as a Ministry
Our Mission: Truth Ministry exists so that those who struggle with homosexuality find freedom to live in sexual and relational wholeness according to God's design. Genesis 1:27

Starting in 1999, Truth Ministry has actively reached out to men, women, youth, and family members. We are an Exodus International member ministry based in the Upstate of South Carolina. Click the photo of last year's Exodus Leaders' conference for details about Exodus.
Truth Ministry is a nonprofit, non-denominational, Christ-centered organization whose mission is--To help people who struggle with homosexuality be free to live in sexual and relational wholeness according to God's design.
Since 1999, Truth Ministry has actively reached out to men, women and family members who struggle with homosexuality. Started in Spartanburg, SC under the leadership of one individual, Truth Ministry now reaches out to the greater Spartanburg, Greenville, Anderson, Asheville and Columbia areas with a volunteer staff of twelve individuals.
Within the Christian and secular community, Truth Ministry has worked non-stop to educate the Church and others with the understanding that change from a lifestyle of homosexuality is possible through Jesus Christ.
The history of Truth Ministry
Truth Ministry is a nonprofit interdenominational ministry supported by contributions and is a member ministry of Exodus International, a worldwide organization ministering to the needs of those struggling with homosexuality.
Truth Ministry was founded by McKrae Game in February 1999 when he sensed God calling him to share the message of hope that true life change is possible for those who once were homosexual. McKrae, once himself a homosexual, has experienced God's healing and life changing power over the past 15 years and is now married and has two children. He also recognized that the truth about homosexuality is not being conveyed to us in our culture, the media, nor in our churches. For this reason, McKrae established Truth Ministry. The owner of two businesses, McKrae began Truth Ministry on his own, reaching out to help those who needed support by way of one-on-one counseling, and establishing a website and a support group for men. He has spent much time studying the issues related to homosexuality and healing and has a vision for God to bring wholeness to many men and women strugglers and to the church itself.
An outreach to family and friends of those struggling with homosexuality was added in 2000. The purpose of this arm of the ministry is to offer hope and encouragement to families and friends when they are faced with a loved one's homosexuality. Here we offer a safe place for men and women to share their concerns about their loved ones and to pray for them.
In early 2001, Truth added a ministry to women. Fall of 2004, Truth introduced a Living Waters program, authored by Desert Stream Ministries. In Spring of 2005, Truth added an outreach to youth, bringing them together under guidelines and McKrae's own personal supervision. Prior to this, working with youth one-on-one has always been a part of McKrae's ministry and has had a strong impact on many youth that are searching for direction in their life in reference to their gender security issues.
In 2004-2007, McKrae served as the Regional Representative (volunteer position) to the Mid-Atlantic Coast, for Exodus International.
In 2005, Truth welcomed Forever Family and Meleah Allard as Truth's first satellite ministry in Hendersonville NC. They offer a women's ministry and family ministry. In early fall of 2006 a men's ministry was started by McKrae to meet twice per month.
In 2006, McKrae Game served as the state spokesman for The Family Marriage Amendment to the South Carolina Constitution, making marriage defined as one man and one woman. The bill was passed overwhelmingly in a state wide election. It was not McKrae or Truth's desire to turn off the gay community by this action but instead stand for families and to continue the need for people to seek freedom from a sinful and damaging lifestyle, which he personally left largely because of the issue of family.
In 2007, Truth welcomed new satellite ministries--Greenville, SC with Tom Vinegar and Aiken, SC with Michael Harris. These ministries are currently focused on helping men.
Truth Ministry offers a Speakers Bureau as a resource to the community and to the body of Christ - the church. We are available to speak to your church or organization if you are interested in learning more about God's life changing power as He transforms sinful man into His image. We look forward to serving you! |
